Description of a sock drawer

A maze of colors and textures, this home is slightly messy and incredibly beautiful. It shelters pairs that know one another and are matched accordingly and pairs that are complete strangers, satisfied to find any partner. They live crowded and comfortable, anxious for the day that they will journey outward to experience the ground, the shoe, the washer, the dryer… a quest that leads them back to this very spot. Some are never so lucky as to experience this adventure, for they are too old, too worn to go. But they are nostalgic enough to keep on living here. And others go on this journey and never return.
