For my brothers

What does it do to a man to realize his life is not just worth less, it’s worthless?
How does it soak into your veins and destroy your spirit and kill your soul to know?
You fool yourself that people care about you, they don’t.
They care about them and they are horrified because they don’t want what happened to you to happen to them.
Because they relate to you and believe they are close enough to you to see their eyes in your face.

Do you know the freedom in never being scared?
For people to see you and walls start to crumble,
They unarm themselves as their words start to tumble.
And they are catering to you and your needs
While I’m here on my knees, while his knee’s on me and I try to see why I bleed as we lay on the floor.

Lights out.
Times out.
Worthless to the core.
